In order to have real-time analysis, the computer must receive in real-time the images generated by the ultrasound imaging device.

For standard ultrasound devices, the computer must be connected to the video output of the ultrasound device by using a video capture device. For some specific ultrasound devices, the video capture device is not needed and these devices are directly connected to the computer by USB or by WiFi.

A video capture device is needed to connect the computer with the ultrasound system and perform real-time analysis. Quipu recommends the Magewell USB Capture AIO.

VGA/DVI/HDMI video outputs

If the ultrasound device has a VGA, DVI or HDMI output (see next figure for reference), one of these outputs should be used to connect your ultrasound machine to the Magewell USB Capture AIO.

  • VGA video output: use a VGA-to-DVI cable to connect your ultrasound machine to the Epiphan AV.io HD or the Magewell USB Capture AIO; then use the USB 3.0 cable to connect the video capture device to your computer.

Legacy video standard outputs

If the ultrasound device has a “legacy” (S-Video or C-Video) video standard output (see next figure for reference), the ultrasound machine can be connected to the Magewell USB Capture AIO through the DB9 adapter.

Detail of the connections based on the output video format:

  • S-Video output: use an S-Video cable to connect your ultrasound machine to the Magewell USB Capture AIO.
  • C-Video (RCA) output: use an RCA cable to connect your ultrasound machine to the Magewell USB Capture AIO.
  • C-Video (BNC) output: use a BNC-to-RCA adapter and then an RCA cable to connect your ultrasound machine to the Magewell USB Capture AIO.

Per collegare il computer all'ecografo ed effettuare analisi in tempo reale è necessario un dispositivo di acquisizione video. Quipu consiglia due dispositivi USB, Epiphan AV.io HD o Magewell USB Capture AIO.

Se L'ecografo ha un'uscita di tipo VGA/DVI/HDMI (vedi la figura seguente), suggeriamo di connettere l'ecografo al computer tramite il dispositivo di acquisizione videoEpiphan AV.io HD o Magewell USB Capture AIO (clicca qui per maggiori informazioni).



Se l'ecografo dispone di un'uscita video di tipo obsoleto (S-Video or C-Video)(vedere la figura seguente), si può connettere l'ecografo direttamente al computer utilizzando il dispositivo di acquisizione video Magewell USB Capture AIO. Se si vuole utilizzare il dispositivo Epiphan AV.io HD, è necessario convertire prima l'uscita video a VGA e poi acquisire l'uscita VGA con Epiphan AV.io HD. Per la prima conversione video è possibile utilizzare un qualsiasi convertitore ad alta qualità da S-Video a VGA o da C-Video a VGA. NOTA: Verificare con il personale tecnico che l'uscita video dell'ecografo sia attiva. 

La finestra contenente l'immagine B-mode deve avere una risoluzione minima di 480x480 pixel.

ATTENZIONE: La finestra B-mode del video deve avere una risoluzione di almeno 6 pixel/mm. Se presente, la dimensione della finestra Pulse Wave Doppler deve essere di almeno 200x100 pixels.

ATTENZIONE: se il convertitore video viene utilizzato con un adattatore AC/DC, quest'ultimo deve essere un alimentatore di tipo medico in conformità con lo standard IEC 60601-1, 3a edizione.
